Tim Tams and Milo
Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore: Tim Tam straws
Can anybody guess the subject of this post? It's a little delayed, as the experiment in question took place the Tuesday before last. But for some reason I thought of it now. First, some basic background. Tim Tams (click the link to see a picture) are a really popular Aussie chocolate biscuit. Milo is a chocolate malt drink that's absolutely amazing (and very, very Aussie). The tradition is to bite off the corners of the Tim Tam and use it as a straw for drinking Milo. Last Tuesday for OC night, Ching and I made Milo for Vikki and Triona, who had never tried it. We pulled out a package of Tim Tams. We decided to see what all the fuss was about. The results? The Tim Tams melted and collapsed but tasted ten times better. Maybe we're supposed to do it with cold Milo rather than hot?
