Ok, my paper has to be handed in... now where?

Oh, you mean the JOHN Woolley Building. As in it's listed under "J" in the list of University Buildings found in my planner. Thank goodness I have internet access to search for it on the online map so I didn't have to bother you with an email asking where your office is. Of course, had I known to look under "J" for the map reference in the first place, I wouldn't have had to search for it online.

I'm not actually upset with my prof, I'm just realising how mystified one can feel when you realise that something is being referred to using a name that is obviously a short form. It's like some secret Uni language that you missed out on by not being around in first year... Not like Guelph is any better. I can't even begin to guess how many people I had direct to Rozanski Hall when it was listed as "CC" on their timetables.

(Background: Construction of Rozanski Hall was completed last summer. It was not named until sometime after the previous school year had ended. Therefore it had been referred to only as the "Classroom Complex," or "CC" in timetabling shorthand. The new shorthand is, predictably, "RH", but the computer system didn't get updated until well into the fall semester. The result: a lot of confused first years who only knew it as "Rozanski Hall" and nearly as many other students who seemed to have missed the fact that a new classroom complex was being built.)
